LysCERATOR™

LysCERATOR is a recombinantly produced lysine-specific endopeptidase (Lys-C) that digests proteins C-terminally of lysine residues.
It delivers efficient digestion with fewer missed cleavages — even in complex samples — and shows best-in-class efficiency at lysine residues, along with superior performance at challenging lysine–proline linkages. Together, these features support cleaner spectra and more confident protein identification.

Efficient lysine-specific digestion that minimizes missed cleavages

In HeLa cell lysates, LysCERATOR outperformed alternative Lys-C enzymes by generating more unique peptides and a higher proportion of fully digested peptides with no missed cleavages. The result is a cleaner, more informative peptide pool for confident LC–MS analysis — even in highly complex samples.

Superior digestion at lysine–proline linkages

Lysine–proline (K–P) sites are a known challenge for Lys-C digestion. In trastuzumab experiments, LysCERATOR achieved more complete digestion at K–P sites than alternative Lys-C enzymes, resulting in fewer missed cleavages and more reliable digestion at traditionally difficult digestion sites.

Resistant to Demanding Digestion Conditions

LysCERATOR retains high activity under strong denaturing conditions, supporting efficient lysine-specific digestion in workflows that require denaturants for effective protein solubilization. This makes LysCERATOR well suited for a wide range of proteomics applications, including challenging sample types.
