FabALACTICA (IgdE) is a cysteine protease that digests human IgG1 at a specific site above the hinge, generating intact and homogenous Fab and Fc fragments.

FabALACTICA (IgdE) is a unique protease that cleaves human IgG1 at one single amino acid position just above the hinge region, generating intact Fc and Fab fragments.
The enzyme requires no reducing conditions or co-factors. The enzyme is reconstituted by addition of water.
