The Position

The VP Sales & Marketing reports directly to CEO and is part of the Senior Management team at Genovis. In the role of VP Sales & Marketing, you lead the sales team in Europe and Asia and is responsible for all Global Marketing activities.

The sales and marketing team consists of 6 people responsible for sales and marketing, order and logistics, and active participation in business development activities to further increase sales and awareness of Genovis’ continuously growing portfolio of SmartEnzymes.

Together with members from other functions at Genovis, the person will bring a sales and market perspective to product and application development projects to expand the SmartEnzymes portfolio and to help the customers build improved workflows based on Genovis's unique enzyme technologies.

This is an ideal position for combining scientific knowledge in a business setting and commercial environment, it provides an opportunity to impact the overall development, strategies, and continued growth for Genovis.

Areas of responsibility include (but are not limited to):
  • Drive sales of SmartEnzymes at biopharmaceutical accounts together with the Sales & Marketing Team.
  • Identify business opportunities, close new business deals and other commercial opportunities to further build Genovis business.
  • Establish, expand and develop customer relationships at accounts globally.
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for products and geographies.
  • Work with the Application & Marketing teams to develop technical marketing material for various channels such as webinars, conferences, e-marketing, and social media.
  • Represent Genovis at scientific conferences and other marketing events globally.
  • Administrative tasks include:
    • Managing the Sales and Marketing team
    • Follow up and evaluate sales and marketing activities
    • Develop and provide reporting on current and new business opportunities
    • Planning and budgeting and identify and support business development opportunities.

Candidate Profile

To be successful in this role it is important to understand that customer interaction and sales are fundamental for successful business development. The ability to build relationships with Genovis customers, meet with them and understand their challenges is an important component in the Genovis business model where the voice of the clients feeds Genovis’ customer-driven innovation approach.

The candidates need to have a strong scientific background and experience of the biopharma industry and an understanding of protein- and antibody-based biopharmaceuticals and biochemical analysis. Experience with analytical techniques such as LC-MS is considered to be a great advantage in this position.

He/she should be result-driven with a strong commercial mindset and triggered to find new business opportunities. Moreover, he/she possesses’ skills to interact with Genovis customers at various levels and functions. The VP must interact and navigate well in a small and dynamic organization that operates on a global market.

Required Experience

  • Experience with analytical workflows for the analysis of proteins, ideally LC-MS.
  • Understanding of biopharmaceutical development.
  • Strong Leadership skills.
  • Proven successful experience in sales and marketing as well as managing relationships with key customers.
  • A relationship builder who can successfully develop and lead external commercial customer relations on a global level.
  • Good cross-functional leadership across the Genovis organization.
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting process.
  • Autonomous, initiative-taking, and results-oriented personality.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communications skills.


Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biomedicine, or other areas of the Life Sciences.


Fluent in verbal and written English.


Genovis is based in Lund, Skåne and requires travel internationally (25%).
