Recently there was a paper published by Lišková et al in Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry using our FabRICATOR Kit for generating and purifying F(ab’)2 fragments (this kit is now replaced by FragIT-Kit). Researchers were investigating conjugation of antibodies and antibody fragments on quantum dots for capillary immunofluorescence assays as a way of detecting low levels of target molecules in complex mixtures. One of the key points in achieving a sensitive assay was to reduce the heterogeneity of the particle-antibody conjugates. Using FabRICATOR treated antibody fragments the researches were able to significantly improve homogeneity of the conjugate thereby improving the overall quality of the analysis.
