About us

Genovis is a Swedish company, situated in Lund in close vicinity to Malmoe and the Copenhagen area in Denmark (Medicon Valley Academy). Our mission is to contribute to the progress of science and technology and in partnership with our customers transfer innovation into improved drug development and healthcare.
Genovis is currently in an early commercial phase; our business strategy is to strengthen cash flow from the sales of existing and new products as well as through strategic partnership(s).

Genovis operations involve two product groups:

Antibody engineering portfolio

Genovis has developed several products that simplify antibody characterization. These products are currently implemented worldwide among big pharma and biotech companies, working with development of therapeutic mAbs.

Genovis manufacture and market unique enzymes for specific modifications of antibodies. Especially for characterization of therapeutic monoclonals in development, production and quality control these enzymes have significant advantages e.g. reduced time for sample preparation, homogenous end products and better sensitivity and yield than competing technologies. A key application is mass spectrometry analysis of monoclonals where the ability to divide the antibodies in specific subunits before analysis is being regarded as a disruptive technology. Several products have been developed based on these enzymes and formats now include immobilized enzyme and columns sizes in various sizes and configurations. Other applications currently being developed is crystallization of monoclonals and large scale production of F(ab’)2 fragments.

Genovis initiated sales of these products in 2009 and the first generation customers are Biotech and Pharma companies mainly in the US and Europe.

Genovis offer unique tools for protein characterization:

·  Novel enzymatic tools for characterization of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies.

·  Rapid investigation of the whole content of mAbs in one single experiment.

·  Top down sequencing to replace traditional bottom up approachs in high resolution MS.

Nanoparticles as contrast agents

Genovis’ provide design and production of nanoparticles. We provide custom made products and imaging services. Our primary focus ismultimodal nanoparticles for preclinical imaging (optical imaging, MRI, PET/SPECT and combinations).  Genovis further develops upconverting nanostructures for preclinical optical in vivo imaging applications. One of the research projects in pipeline, one of them has a clear clinical goal focusing on detection of sentinel node in breast cancer and malignant melanoma. The project is run in cooperation with Lund University Hospital and Lund University.
