RNAi

RNA interference (RNAi) is a powerful and widely used technology in elucidating gene function. A target gene is silenced in a sequence specific manner and the loss of that gene function is studied. Sequence specific dsRNA, delivered to the cell either as siRNA (short interfering RNA) or shRNA (short hairpin RNA), enters the RNAi pathway and complementary mRNA is destroyed.

Successful gene knock down depends on the potency of the siRNA and the efficiency of the delivery method. Genovis has developed a new transfection reagent for siRNA delivery featuring consistent high transfection efficiency and very low cell cytotoxicity.

NIMT®FeOfection Transfection Reagents Offers:

  • Excellent silencing at low siRNA concentrations – Minimizing non-specific and off target effects in the cell.
  • Very Low Cell Toxicity - A stable nanoparticle with a solid iron oxide core significantly reduces cell toxicity.
  • Easy and quick handling.
  • Versatile – Gene knockdown in a broad range of cell lines

High gene knockdown at low siRNA concentrations is achieved with stable, uniform and size controlled transfection complexes. With a solid iron oxide core NIMT®FeOfection transfection reagents provide a stable transfection carrier. To facilitate siRNA binding and promote cellular uptake are the iron oxide cores of NIMT®FeOfection|PURPLE coated with a specific formulation of cationic and neutral lipids.

With NIMT®FeOfection transfection reagents effective gene silencing is reached in a wide range of cell lines including suspension cells, mesenchymal stem cells as well as adherent standard cell lines.

Easy to Use

Easy and quick handling - Simply mix NIMT®FeOfection|PURPLE with siRNA, incubate and add to cells.

Highly Efficient Gene Silencing -  Applicable in RNAi High Throughput Screening.

A long incubation time of transfection complexes, up to 3 hours, does not affect transfection efficiency. Lipid coated solid nanoparticles provide stable transfection complexes that do not grow in size over time.
